Blessing Day

Our little man was blessed in church this past Sunday...January 3, 2010. He was blessed by his dad and many of Corbin's friends and family were able to be there. Casey did a great job and Corbin was awake but perfectly quiet through the entire blessing.

Corbin was blessed with these things:

~A personal relationship with his Heavenly Father
~A testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
~Health and strength
~To listen to his mother and father as they guide in righteousness
~Understanding of the atonement
~To be a knowledgeable and understanding person
~Teach what he knows and be a beacon to others
~Serve a mission for the Lord
~Marry a woman who will help him return to live with Heavenly Father
~To strive to improve each day

Happy New Year!!!

I can't believe it is already 2010! It seems like it wasn't too long ago that the world had its panties in a twist worrying about Y2K. But here it is...10 years later...10 years older...for better or worse. This year I decided one of my New Years resolutions would be to start this blog. I have had several people tell me I should start one and have been thinking about it for a while, so I am finally giving in. With some of our family so far away it will be a good way to keep them posted on what is going on in our lives. I am not the most computer savvy or the best at keeping in touch with friends and family, so idealy this blog will help me remedy both. Hopefully the random updates from our lives will be enjoyed. So here I go!!

Here is a quick recap of 2009:

~We found out we were going to have a baby

Here I am just a week or so before Corbin was born...Yikes!

~Casey and I both turned 24

~Casey spent the summer in Amarillo, TX completing an internship with the oil company BP while I stayed in Utah to work. But I did get to go down for a long visit.

This is us in a freakishly huge rocking chair at a restaurant in Amarillo called 'The Big Texan' famous for its 72 oz steak. If you can eat all 72 oz (plus a baked potato, salad and side of shrimp) in one hour you get it for free. Impossible you say?? I thought so too, but we saw not one...not two...but four people finish the entire thing in just the few hours we were there. Don't ever say something can't be done I guess...it may be disgusting but it can be done.

And here we are at Cadillac Ranch. Just a random field in Amarillo where some rich farmer decided to plant 10 Cadillacs into the ground for the world to spray paint. We couldn't spend time in Amarillo without making our mark!

and most important of all...

~We had our beautiful baby boy...Corbin Leo Mock on October 16

He weighed 6 lbs 2 oz and was 18.5 inches long

Here he is just minutes after he was born.

And here he is all cleaned up.

His first bath at home.

Almost 2 weeks old.

Here's the three of us on Halloween...Corbin was our little football.

And here is Corbin more recently showing off his adorable smile.

2009 was a great year for us and we are excited to see what 2010 has in store!
